Weekend Warrior

Another long weekend, yay! I am, well, working, but from home. It's quite the challenge -- I'm glad I don't have to commute so long to work, but I am distracted by a couple of kids (especially the baby!). And I have to take breaks to sneak snacks from the kitchen, and a couple of times I napped with my kid! Productivity fail!

Anyhoo, here are some shots from my birthday weekend, oh, six weeks back. That weekend really proved that maxi dresses are perfect when you want a dressed down/dressed up feel: dressed down because it's a relaxing hotel getaway; dressed up because, erm, I'm not at home and flouncing around in shorts and a T-shirt doesn't seem very becoming.

Dress 1
You've seen this pink Terranova dress before. I wore this at check in and all the way to dinner that night at Tosca. I feel like the light gray cardigan pulls this together so I don't look so beach-y.
Checking out the awesome bathroom
Bed softness tested and approved!
A picture from our Tosca dinner - so you can see my husband!
Mood lighting = very dark
Dress 2
My mom gave me this asymmetrical blue Coco Cabana (SM Department Store) dress for my birthday and to be honest, I wasn't sure if it was really "me". At first glance I found the print to be a bit loud for my taste - very tropical - and the asymmetrical cut would be hard to pair with a bra. But then I wore it to lounge by the pool and I fell in love! The print is cheerful and I love the wood shoulder accent and how it fades to black at the hem. I wore this for breakfast buffet the next day too (because the best thing about hotels are the breakfast buffets!).
After breakfast at our Dusit Thani Suite

Very poolside chic
Lesson learned - sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone every now and then!
