Bright white

Pinay Curvies Link-Up Party

I'm so excited to be part of the Pinay Curvies Swag Link-Up Party.  I've met these amazing people online and I'm proud to be part of a community that supports and promotes body love like these fabulous girls!

And in support of that is the first challenge: The All White Fasyon peg! Homaygezz. Here's a sneak peek at how I interpreted this challenge. (OK, so I cheated a bit, hihi)

I have to say, it was a bit intimidating that the first challenge was all about WHITE. You know how it's part of the fashion "rules" that full-figured people shouldn't wear this color? And there are other rules pa related to culture -- like it's associated with everything from weddings and graduations to even mourning. Plus for someone as malikot as I am I'm bound to get stains for some reason or another! Simply put, white is hard to pull off.

This tiered white dress is thrifted from my tita's closet. I love it for its lightweight fabric with a subtle leopard print, and flounciness -- I feel like a Shakespearean heroine when I wear it! But because it's a bit difficult to pull off, not to mention low-cut, I like this lightweight heather gray cardigan (Bugis Market, Singapore) to add some texture and layer. Following the grunge school of thought where girly items are balanced with manly shoes, I paired this with nude brogues (Forever 21).

And because I can't resist a pop of color, mt turquoise necklace (Hong Kong Jade Market) adds a bit of island flavor for that Santorini color palette. (Naks).

So that's it for my all white challenge! Check out the Pinay Curvies link up to see how other curvy girls are wearing this color. :D
