A wedding in December

What! Two posts in one week? No, not running a fever...just enjoying the combined downtime and occasions for dressing up this holiday season. I get to bust out my festive / formal attire and practice my makeup skills too. December is prime time for weddings in the Philippines, and at my good friend's wedding on the 27th I got to do just that.

The look:
PAKKK! Smokey eye time!! I used a shimmering gold-green as a base and a dull charcoal to shadow, followed by a pale silver along the browbone for shimmer. (I did the techniques in this smoky eye and this contoured eye tutorial to achieve this look.)

For the hair, I did a volumized French Twist (Currystrumpet you changed my life with this one). First I prepped my hair with Bumble & Bumble Dry Shampoo and Surf Spray for that rough, messy, beachy feel, then did two rows of French twists. Lastly I secured it with a ponytail.

The product helped to give my hair height. Check it: (With mah date:)

At the Remedios Church in Malate - couldn't resist posing by the bell! When I tried on this Jones New York dress (export overrun, natch, at the Festival Mall Bazaar so I got it for like P800) I had my pink shoes on and couldn't help but notice how well this green went with pink accents. So I paired it with a magenta clutch (Aranaz) and Aldo sandals, both borrowed from my awesome sister.

Also I love this green dress because I can wear a bra with it and don't have to use shapewear! Don't you hate constricting girdles as these long events go on??

Accessories: my gold leaf earrings and brooch are antique costume jewelry from my abuela. The black pearl cuff is a gift from my tita, from Rustan's. Also wearing a chunky ring (an oldie!) from eQuip.

One last shot with my handsome date. Weddings in December are love! I have a few more pics over at my instagram, @Iggztagram. Follow follow!!
